Every adventure begins with planning your route and preparing for the journey ahead.
Before we take you into Colorado’s rugged and beautiful backcountry, we begin every trip with an orientation. Your hiking guide will discuss the route you’ll be traveling, some outdoor safety tips, some of the wildlife you might see, trail etiquette, and the deep and fascinating history of the place you’ll be hiking.
This in-person orientation is a chance for you to meet your guide, ask questions, pick out your food for the trip, and choose your gear for the hike.

Every guided hike will include a personalized magazine cover and article to commemorate your adventure into the Colorado backcountry! Trail Fiends guide and owner Justice Burnaugh is a professional journalist with years of experience as a news reporter covering city government and community events.
From the moment you sign up for your guided hike, we’ll get to work producing a unique and creative magazine spread complete with photographs of your hike and an article for you to keep as a reminder of your Colorado adventure!
After the guided hike, we will email you a PDF version of the magazine spread for you to frame and display as a special keepsake!

Trail Fiends caters to smaller groups of clients who want to experience Colorado’s incredible and remote backcountry without the crowds. To minimize our environmental impact and better serve our clients during the hike, we limit our group sizes to four people or less.
